Thankfulness Is A Choice

Nobody’s life is perfect.  I don’t care how amazing it looks on social media… NOBODY has that perfect life!

People struggle every day.  You can have all the money in the world, but you can’t buy love.

You can be the healthiest person possible, but there are some things you can’t control.  Illness happens.  Death happens.

You can work on your relationships, but if you’re the only one trying, sometimes  your best isn’t enough to hold it together.

I’m saying this not to bring us down, but to remind us that even though life isn’t perfect, we need to be thankful for what we DO have!

We have clean water to drink.  We have a roof over our heads.  We have people that care about us.  We have plenty of reasons to be thankful!

It’s a choice.  We can dwell on what we don’t have, or we can be thankful for what we do.

In my experience, when we are thankful we tend to attract more good things.  For real!  It may take time, but it’s a choice.  Let’s stop dwelling on the problems in life.  It’s such a bummer anyway.  Nobody like a person who is negative all the time!  I like to surround myself with positive people!

But this isn’t as easy as it sounds sometimes, is it?  I think the biggest thing we have to remember is to stop comparing ourselves to others, especially when all we see are the highlights they post on social media.  That’s a pretty well-edited look at life, don’t you think???

Enjoy each moment.  Take the good with the bad, but don’t dwell on that bad.  Let’s be thankful.  Every day.  It’s the week of Thanksgiving, but we can give thanks every day of the year.

Try it.  You might see more things to be thankful for than you thought were possible!
